Shenzhen
Capital Group was founded in 1999 by a team of 17 founding
members with backgrounds In China's public equities markets and
technology manufacturing companies. In 2000 SCGC formed a
joint-venture US dollar fund with UOB Bank of Singapore and
began US dollar overseas structured China directed investments.
This joint venture fund achieved 4 overseas IPO¡¯s and 1 domestic
IPO.
Despite the closing of the domestic A-share listings from
2002-2006, SCGC continued to invest RMB into domestic companies
during this uncertain period. The reward for this fortitude was
33 overseas listings,
17 domestic A-share listings, and several buyouts.
SCGC has grown from the original 17 employees to now 180
employees (120 investment officers and 60 administrative
professionals). SCGC has expanded to offices into 27 of China¡¯s
major cities (including Beijing, Shanghai, Xi¡¯an, Wuhan, Chengdu,
Chongqing, Hefei). SCGC is the only China VC/PE firm with a
nation-wide network of office and on the ground investment
managers, giving SCGC the deepest local presence of all
investment firms in China.
