Management Team:
The prospective company's management team should be innovative,
cooperative, explorative, and constructive. The management team
must communicate openly and efficiently. Teams should not hide bad
news. Bumps are expected in every startup; The management team
should be proactive in spotting potential problems and planning to
avoid them.
Marketing Knowledge:
Market traction is not a mystery. A company should understand and
survey its customers and prospects frequently in order to predict
pipeline success and manage the sales cycle. A marketing team
should know its customers desires, hopes, dreams, fears even
better than the customer himself/herself AND be prepared to take
advantage of that knowledge.
High Return Potential: As any venture capitalist, our mission
is to deliver superior returns to our limited partners. Period.
Superior returns are defined as beating the average performance of
other VCs. Portfolio companies must provide an appropriate risk
related return. Pre-IPO mezzanine rounds should have estimated
returns of +30% in a less than 1.5 year horizon. Early-stage
companies should have +33x return potential over a three to five
year time range. |
